Rabbi Dan Lewin grew up in Dallas and graduated from Greenhill. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and upon graduating with a degree in psychology, went to Jerusalem to pursue religious studies. He then spent over 5 years at the Rabbinical College of America, receiving rabbinical ordination. For over 15 years he has specialized in adult education, being a member of an elite group of Rabbis around the country chosen to lead a Torah learning initiative. He has written classes that were distributed worldwide for the Jewish Learning Institute Torah Studies division (JLI).
Prior to coming to Dallas, Rabbi Lewin and his wife Yael spent 3 years at Binghamton University where they founded an off-campus satellite Chabad center. He has been an adjunct in the Jewish and Israel Studies department of the University of North Texas in Denton, where he lectured to students of all backgrounds and religions. In addition to community work, he writes extensively: He has a Facebook page with weekly Torah insights and videos, an ongoing column in the Texas Jewish Post, and has helped several local leaders and entrepreneurs in Dallas to write their memoirs as a legacy. He is also working on an original book that applies kabbalistic wisdom to self-help.
Rabbi Lewin offers a wide range of Torah classes for adults, as well as private consultations. He can be contacted at [email protected].
